The settlement managing survivalbox that is Bellwright isn’t done with the month of August just yet. The game has put out a new update for the month that applies a variety of updates, adjustments, and a couple of new features.

Noteworthy additions in the patch include the ability for players to set up gear presets for their NPCs; a rework to the combat skill system that awards XP for defeating monsters of a certain type, which goes into strength or agility and weapon skills depending on the weapon used; armor rebalancing that now factors in things like strength requirements to equip specific gear; and multiple new settings that let players tweak gear requirements, hunger, food spoilage, damage, and enemy encounters, among other values.

Other granular updates have also been applied such as increased XP gain from melee hits and blocks, overhead icons to indicate when companions are hungry, group combat AI improvements, and a whole long lineup of bug fixes. The patch notes grant all of the meaty details while a video below provides the highlights. While you’re reading through the patch notes, why not listen to the game’s soundtrack? It’s free to download on Steam.
