Dragon and Home adds the Void Isle, photo mode, pet system, and quality-of-life improvements

While exploring a location called the Void Isle might sound like a bad idea, sandbox MMORPG Dragon and Home would argue that it’s a good idea, especially since it’s the centerpiece of the game’s major content update that went out last week as promised.

The Void Isle is effectively a game mode that challenges level 10 players to explore the layers and rooms of the location’s Near Islands, with progress to subsequent lower levels unlocked by obtaining a silver ranking at least. Ranking is earned by clearing layers quickly, enter at lower character levels, or qualifying earlier. Once the near islands have been cleared, the Far Islands open up, which will see progress and room arrangements reset every two week and feature stronger monsters.

Why go through all of this delving? For rewards, of course. Specifically there are materials to gather including white dragonite, shadow dragonite, and damaged core currency that can be exchanged for tier two boss gear and essences.

On top of the Void Isle content, the update has introduced a photo mode for players to take all kinds of pretty pictures, opened up the full Blazing Desert map, added elite forms of world bosses, and introduced treasure maps. There are also quality-of-life updates including optimization of in-game lighting for better visuals, new teleport points to help make map traversal easier, the removal of original mechanisms and route settings for Mystery Realm dungeons to make them faster, and a new level cap of 30.

Finally, Dragon and Home has introduced a pet system that lets players capture, train, and breed various animal and monster friends, alongside a whole slew of NPCs and mechanics centered around pet management. It’s a lot to absorb so players would do well to read the latest patch notes.
