Today is the day when Temtem is considered a fully built game by developer Crema, even as the studio hit this milestone with some controversy. Patch 1.8 is officially live, bringing the final content update to the “MMO-lite” that focuses on making most goals easier to achieve and activities more rewarding overall.
The patch is indeed a mighty one in terms of adjustments: The rate at which luna and umbra Tems can appear is now 55%, previous season passes are all available and can be selected individually, the Saipark hunting area has received several adjustments, ranked seasons have been reset and will rotate every two months, multiple updates have been made to the Tamer’s Paradise activity, and there are a couple of new items including ETC pieces that can be traded for specific ETCs at a new shop.
There are multiple quality-of-life updates in the patch as well, including skippable combat animations, the ability to see when a Tem will evolve, a new unstick option that can be used once every eight hours (to prevent exploits, apparently), the option to trade mythical Tems for WishYouWell coins, and the ability to select Tems from the Temdeck when trading them to an NPC. All of this is on top of some balance changes, reward updates, and a whole lot more.
As we’ve been reporting multiple times, this will be the last update made to Temtem as it shifts to maintenance mode. This has prompted Crema to congratulate itself on its accomplishments while once again referencing later projects like a proverbial sequel and Project Downbelow. “We’ve reached our original goals for Temtem, fulfilled – even surpassed! – our planned roster of Tems and islands, and saw this game become bigger and greater than any of us could have ever dreamed of,” the studio contends. “We hope you like patch 1.8, and that it makes Temtem nicer to play, replay and return to.”
The time has come: patch 1.8 has now officially launched.

Sad development moment :(
We discovered a bug that was causing false and unfair bans. To prevent more people from getting unjustly banned, we've entered maintenance mode, but won't be able to lift it until tonight.
We apologize for the inconveniences this will cause, and we're…
