The vast majority of MMORPG fans have yet to experience any part of Fantastic Pixel Castle’s upcoming MMORPG simply known as Ghost through any means other than studio head Greg “Ghostcrawler” Street discussing the game. Fortunately, he’s eager to do so, and he recently offered an interesting series of tweets in which he opined that he wants to make leveling slower in the game. To specifically use his own words: “I think it’s the leveling experience that we all fell in love with and invested in MMOs. I think getting to level cap should be an accomplishment, not a blip.

Street is also quick to point out that he’s not forsaking the endgame either, as he notes that there are plenty of games which fail due to having a good leveling experience and a “lame” endgame (what qualifies as being “lame” in this context is not specified). But it’s clear that he’s hoping to make leveling a slower experience that isn’t simply sorted out in a few hours of play when the game gets into the hands of players. Time will tell how well that principle is borne out.
