Neverness to Everness shows off more gameplay and hints at multiplayer development

The middle of July saw Hotta Studio pull the curtain back on Neverness to Everness, an open world gacha RPG for PC and mobile that takes players to a setting that blends the supernatural with an urban open world. Information was a bit sparse initially, with a set of features involving combating anomalous foes, driving a sweet car through a city, managing a business, and decorating a house – none of which seemed to be aimed at more than one player.

Well it would appear that we can keep this one in our general radar thanks to an FAQ sent out in the game’s latest press release offers at least some indication that multiplayer is going to be a thing in the title, though its scale seems to be pretty small – and is currently focused on social aspects than teaming up to beat on monsters.

Here’s the answer from Hotta Studio when asked about how other players will connect with one another:

“This aspect is still in development, so we can’t disclose too much at this time. Overall, there won’t be mandatory interactions between players. However, you can show your friends the customized homes and modified vehicles in Hethereau, and take them for a drive—these activities will definitely be possible.”

Other answers in this section of the presser promise to improve combat in the game, talk up the large cityscape in the game’s open world, and ensure that the studio is making every effort to cram a UE5-powered open world RPG into a mobile device without eating all of the storage space.

NTE is also continuing to show itself off with another gameplay trailer that tries to encapsulate as much about the RPG as possible, including a boss fight, some looks at urban life, and some of the neat traversal abilities characters can access. That recent footage awaits below.
