Tarisland lays out its philosophy for seasons ahead of Blight Dragon Elegy

With Tarisland’s Blight Dragon Elegy launching later in October (no, we still don’t know which day, bizarrely), Tencent is deep-diving what players can expect from its future seasons with a “rules” dev blog.

First, Tencent is copying many other games with its exclusivity plan. “The limited appearances of Season 0 (including specified limited appearances from achievements, battle passes, etc.) serve as unique adventure markers exclusive to veteran players,” the studio explains. “These rare rewards will no longer be available in future seasons.” However, some of the resources will convert between seasons.

Second, the team doesn’t want people to “feel compelled to play catch-up,” so expect some hard resets between season, like resets for inscribed stone talent trees and emblems. Consider seasons a bit of a fresh start, except for things like talents and and reputation. Past seasonal gear will continue to be usable, but you won’t be able to temper a past season’s attributes, special aptitudes, and prefixes onto the current season’s gear.

Players should definitely read the whole outline for the finer points here – the devs called it a “rules” post for a reason – but as a baseline, just figure that the team wants you to have a good reason to play every season without rendering the previous one completely pointless.
