Huh.

Do you remember when there was a school-wide trading market for collectibles? Baseball cards, Micro Machines, Garbage Pail Kids cards; they were totally a thing, we promise, we’re young just like you. Well now Palia players can enter into the plushie trade with the Fall’s Flourishes update, which has released today to the beta MMO.

Engaging in this new bit of social gameplay is done by completing a quest in the underground black market area, after which players can access a trading kiosk to put in and complete trading requests for potato pods or plushes. Up to three of these items can be traded at a time, and there’s even an achievement tied to the whole system for the cheevo-hunting Palian.

The rest of the update otherwise brings a whole bunch of housing decor styled around camping and some outdoor rock pieces, readies for the return of the Maji Market on November 5th, adds a way to let players feature their homes in the home tour UI, and brings back daily potato pod login rewards to collect. There’s also a bunch of cosmetics in the cash shop today and arriving later in November, including the adorable backpack squirrel (aka the ferris) as a purchasable pet.
