World of Warcraft shares the behind-the-scenes of its Ibelin-inspired charity bundle, the Reven Pack

Hey guy.

World of Warcraft has made a tradition for years of selling charity pets which offer all of the profits to charity for a limited time, and the newest pack, the Reven Pack, is up for sale now. It offers players a chance to buy both an adorable fox pet and a backpack that shows the same fox sleeping in the pack, with proceeds going to CureDuchenne. And if you haven’t already heard about the player who inspired it, Mats “Ibelin” Steen, get ready to start getting weepy when you watch the video about its creation.

Steen was the subject of the recent Netflix documentary detailing his life suffering from Duchenne muscular dystrophy while enjoying a vibrant life inside WoW, and the video shows lead live artist Mats Myrvold (a fellow Norwegian on the development team) making a pet and a cosmetic item dedicated to honoring a fellow player. It’s a sweet tribute to someone who is no longer with us and a sign of the care placed into the charity bundle – well worth the run time to learn about.
