The Daily Grind: Which MMOs do you feel go together very naturally?

The other day I was talking to a friend and mentioned that I have been playing Final Fantasy XIV for ages, to which he immediately responded, “Oh, of course you have, I should have guessed.” Now, he definitely should have guessed before because he already learned this about me and had the same reaction then, something we joked about at the time, but it got me thinking about something. Not what sort of people you expect to be playing a given MMO, but the games that just seem to naturally wind up on the backstory of the same sorts of people with some regularity.

Some of them are obvious; there are a lot of Final Fantasy XI players who wound up playing FFXIV, sure. But others are a bit more surprising. There are a lot of people in Warframe who previously or currently play FFXIV and others who want to start playing it, for example. There’s a lot of overlap between City of Heroes players and The Secret World players, too. So which MMOs do you feel go together very naturally, either because it just feels like fans of one would be fans of the other or because you keep running into people who exist in the overlapping circles of that Venn diagram?

Every morning, the Massively Overpowered writers team up with mascot Mo to ask MMORPG players pointed questions about the massively multiplayer online roleplaying genre. Grab a mug of your preferred beverage and take a stab at answering the question posed in today’s Daily Grind!
