The PTS for the City of Heroes Homecoming servers is looking to tweak the knobs of the rogue MMO a bit. Yesterday’s patch offered up a beefy list of upcoming and experimental changes that will be of particular interest to those who PvP or those who play Tankers and Brutes.
Mez durations and suppressions are now enforced by pretty much every power that applies the status effect, including Epic powers, player pets, and temporary powers. The same also applies to a variety of top-tier Enhancements. The patch notes have the full and complete list, but the Cliff’s Notes version is this: Beware of anyone that can apply a disorient or stun.
For the hard-hitting Tank and Brute players, there’s also some experimental changes up for testing. The devs are looking to tweak the crash that comes when Super Strength’s Rage fades, tweaking outgoing damage, defense, resistance, and elusiveness to new lows for 10 seconds. The tradeoff is that Rage will now crash only if stacked, though crashes will occur at every stack’s expiration until all of the stacks are removed.
The test server is also experimenting with damage scales, endurance pools, and AoE target caps for all Tankers. The test build is also playing with some of the tier one and tier two powers, rearranging abilities for several powersets in order to help level progression.
The PTS isn’t the only thing that’s been updated. The Homecoming game itself has also gotten a patch that made a variety of fixes to powers, enemy spawns, and other bits of housekeeping.
