The next episode’s worth of content is coming soon to Phantasy Star Online 2 as Episode 5 has been confirmed for a release date of Wednesday, September 30th, bringing with it a level cap raise to 90, new ARKS missions and areas to explore, new enemy types, new quest types with new rewards, new seasonal events, new Alliance Quarters, and a whole new world of fantasy. Quite literally:
“In Episode 5, following the aid of those on Earth, players discover a mysterious portal that leads to another dimension, called ‘Omega.’ This world seems driven purely by fantasy, a world of swords and magic instead of technology and science. The two worlds are in direct contrast with each other, and as the story progresses, players will frequently move between them while observing the strange similarities these worlds share. Simultaneously, a mysterious woman who calls herself “Alma” appears, and she seems to have information about Omega and–strangely–about ARKS.”
Before that, the game has kicked off a number of campaigns and events in the run-up to Episode 5’s release, with login rewards to collect and boosts to Urgent Quests, Limited-Time Quests, and enhancements. There’s also a social media-related contest for players to take part in and a Sakura Wars-themed AC and FUN Scratch Ticket event going on, with the goodies tied to that event available to preview in the video below.
