When you have a dad who created one of the most famous scifi IPs of all time, you best ride those coattails all the way through life, son. And so it is for Rod Roddenberry, the son of Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry, who is the CEO of Roddenberry Entertainment and an executive producer on the new Star Trek TV series.
But it turns out that Rod has never actually sat down to play Star Trek Online — at least until now. Priority One Podcast, which is celebrating its 500th episode this weekend, is welcoming Mr. Roddenberry on to play the game with the podcast crew. The show will be raising money for a good cause, the Poor People’s Campaign.
In other Star Trek Online news, last week Cryptic released the game’s first 32nd Century ship, the Janeway Class science command vessel. Also, both Xbox and PlayStation players should log in this week to grab a free pistol and experimental ship upgrade.
Not busy on Saturday, March 13? Join our #VirtualEvent celebrating 500 #podcast episodes! Starts at 11am PT
