The Daily Grind: What makes you irrationally angry in an MMO?

Leet.

Look, we all get mad about stuff sometimes. It’s understandable. It’s totally reasonable to be annoyed, for example, if the game you want to play is unavailable because of emergency server maintenance or it’s unplayable due to lag or something similar. Being angry in those situations is reasonable. But we also know that sometimes our anger is disproportionate compared to the actual irritation, and we wind up getting really angry about something that’s outside of our control or otherwise just an unfortunate reality rather than something we could avoid.

Heck, it can even be a matter of the aforementioned problems. Sure, it sucks when you want to play a game and can’t because of server maintenance, but it’s possible to get far too worked up and angry about it, sometimes even when you intellectually know that it’s taking your anger way too far. It happens to all of us. So what makes you irrationally angry in an MMO? What just has you seeing red, even if you can more objectively note that it’s a fairly minor thing to get worked up over?

Every morning, the Massively Overpowered writers team up with mascot Mo to ask MMORPG players pointed questions about the massively multiplayer online roleplaying genre. Grab a mug of your preferred beverage and take a stab at answering the question posed in today’s Daily Grind!
