Every time an MMORPG expansion is announced, the very first thing that I look for is the big hook — that tentpole feature that is a gotta-have, totally want, shut-up-and-take-my-money. It’s the feature that has everyone buzzing about it the day (or week) afterward, and if an expansion can pull off more than one of these, so much the better.
Of course, it doesn’t always happen. Sometimes an expansion announcement arrives and there’s a collective head-patting with a patronizing “That’s nice, dear.” Then there are those announced features that are beyond thrilling to some and a non-starter for others, depending on your interest.
