Halo Infinite ends seasons after season 5, switching to short-term operations instead

We certainly wouldn’t tell anyone that she isn’t allowed to give a game a title that implies infinity, but since doing so inevitably makes it hilarious when the title proves to be resolutely finite, it may be a bad idea. Case in point: Halo Infinite is calling it quits on seasons, with the currently running season 5 being the last one for the game. The title is still being supported, according to senior community manager John Junyszek, who described the change as simply a shift in focus.

After the current season ends, the game will move on to shorter-term operations, which run for a few weeks rather than the months of seasons. Players can also pay money to keep the various cosmetics from operations available for longer, if that’s your thing. There’s also talk in the roadmap video about the next project in the franchise, which makes the point once again that the title was somewhat less infinite than planned. Semi-finite. There are limits, that’s the point.
