CRSD F.O.A.D. brings back Cuisine Royale mode, eases hero unlocks, and shrinks squad sizes in latest update

It’s been a long time since we’ve had the battle royale shooter CRSD: F.O.A.D. cross our desk, so we think a bit of context might be needed. This game started life as a 2018 April Fools’ joke known as Cuisine Royale, but then after a couple of years developer Darkflow Studio decided to shed the tongue-in-cheek humor of the game with a more “brutal” bent and the addition of mystical powers. MOP’s own Fight or Kite columnist Sam found CRSD to sure be a game that can be played, and we also got a peek during an episode of Backseat Streaming.

If you happen to be among those folks who missed the less serious side of CRSD when it first started, then you might be pleased to learn that Cuisine Royale has returned as its own mode last week, returning the original shooter’s penchant for outfitting characters with cookware armor pieces and a significantly more simplified experience, though CRSD’s recently added maps and characters will all be available in Cuisine Royale.

In addition to the returning classic mode, the latest patch has reduced the squad size to three players thanks to fan demand, and has refined the way players can unlock new heroes by using summon stones that can be earned from succeeding in battles. There are other character tweaks and bug fixes on top, but old fans might be happy to learn that Cuisine Royale is back on the menu.
