The death of E3 has left quite a spring and summer hype vacuum for the games industry to try to fill – and Geoff Keighley’s Summer Games Fest is far from the only contender, as IGN has announced IGN Live, slotted right when you’d have expected E3 to run back in the long long ago.
Organizers announced that the show will run June 7th through 9th at Magic Box @ The Reef in Los Angeles, California, with a focus on “video games, movies, TV shows, and comics” with the consumer, not the industry, in mind. The group is promising everything from trailers and reveals to panels and merch – and studios including Amazon and Square-Enix.
Tickets are actually pretty cheap; general admission is only $25 a day, or $60 for a three-day VIP pass that comes with some swag too.
As GIbiz notes, that weekend is already packed, and not just because Summer Games Fest show is slated for June 7th; there’s also Iam8bit’s Play Days media showcase, Ubisoft Forward, Days of the Devs, the Future Games Show, the PC Gaming Show, and the Xbox showcase all running at different points that weekend. Wheee!
