Fractured has overhauled its PvP to reduce griefing ahead of next week’s formal launch

We’re just a week away from Fractured Online’s official launch out of early access, which means Dynamight Studios has officially rolled out its last big patch before the release.

This is the planned patch with a reworked tutorial for new players, the new PvP ruleset, and a ton of quality-of-life tweaks. The new PvP ruleset is probably the key change here, as it smooths out the game’s non-consensual PvP (and ideally eliminates the griefing that was driving players out of the game) while both creating PvP incentive for legitimate PvPers and returning to the game’s original ideal of allowing PvE players to progress without PvP.

The update was meant to go live last night but was delayed until this morning. “We apologize for the delay, we are just done squashing some bugs found in the last few days, but it’s too late to publish today,” Dynamight wrote last night.

Do note that this patch doesn’t include a brand-new server; if you’re waiting for that, then you’re waiting until next week, when it launches alongside the official release on July 24th.
