Nightingale devs host a Realms Rebuilt postmortem and outline future update plans

Now that Nightingale’s Realms Rebuilt update has been out in the wild for a few weeks, Inflexion Games is taking a moment to process the update’s reception and consider what’s next in a new and far less formal video with Inflexion CEO Aaryn Flynn and head of audio Neil Thompson.

The devs first remark about how well-received the patch has been among gamers (including ourselves), noting that it brought back about a 50/50 mix of old and new players and even received some positive feedback from Reddit (which was apparently a rare occurrence). They also talked about the game’s latest bug-fixing patch that addressed things like broken glyph puzzles, invisible buildings, and weirdly invincible trees.

The last portion of the video offered a vague collection of future update plans that include adding more story realms that bring new biomes, introducing customization options for gear, further optimization with a move to Unreal Engine 5.4, and continued bug fixing. Time tables were not given here, but they are plans and discussions happening within the studio.
