The Daily Grind: Have you ever had a dream about MMORPGs?

Today’s Daily Grind is inspired by two bits from social media. First, MOP’s Justin recently joked on the podcast that describing MMO boss battles is like trying to explain a dream. (MMO dev Stormwaltz kindly transcribed it for posterity.) And second, Mike Morhaime, of all people, retweeted a story about a gamer escaping bad dreams using a vision of the StarCraft menu.

So naturally, we’re talking dreams. I’m sure I’ve had them, but I don’t remember. One thing that does happen to me is that when I play a lot of MMOs with a lot of vertical movement (gliding, mounts, super jump) and then switch to something that doesn’t, I can totally panic myself about accidentally falling – and that transfers to the real world too.

Have you ever had a dream about MMORPGs? Does this happen to you? What about lucid dreams or waking dreams? Do MMOs affect your dreams at all?

Every morning, the Massively Overpowered writers team up with mascot Mo to ask MMORPG players pointed questions about the massively multiplayer online roleplaying genre. Grab a mug of your preferred beverage and take a stab at answering the question posed in today’s Daily Grind!
