Dungeons and Dragons Online’s new server is running smoothly, but some items are missing

It was an inauspicious start for Dungeons and Dragons Online’s new premier 64-bit server, as the Cormyr shard experienced some of the worst slideshow lag ever seen since Anarchy Online in the fall of 2001 when it launched on Wednesday.

After taking the server down for the better part of a day to troubleshoot the root cause, SSG returned Cormyr to action Thursday night — and the good news is that it’s working very well. I actually played for two hours last night with nary a hitch, and all of my guildies reported that it was silky-smooth from their side as well.

However, SSG isn’t out of the woods on this yet. Several players are reporting missing account rewards, and the studio is investigating: “We are aware that some subset of players are missing their auto-granted creature companions and mounts on Cormyr. We have been looking into it, but the cause is proving more elusive than expected. As soon as we know more or have further guidance we will let you know.”
