The focus on improving existing features with Elder Scrolls Online’s Update 44 moves forward into the recently added scribing system, which will be getting some updates that Gold Road owners will likely want to learn as the patch heads to release tonight on PC/Mac and November 13th on consoles.
Updates to scribing begin with some script proliferation: A total of 14 existing scripts will be usable in nine previously incompatible grimoires, which should open up some more build options for players clapping together their own abilities. That isn’t to say there won’t be something completely new, as the patch will also introduce a new Banner Bearer grimoire, which casts a buff-granting banner on a player character’s back. This grimoire is available from Chronicler Firandil after Rank 5 in the Alliance War’s Support skill line.
Finally, the update will be introducing four brand-new skill styles, adding new customization for two abilities in the Psijic skill tree, the Force Shock skill in destruction staff’s line, and the Pierce ability for sword and shield. Unlike the scribing updates, these will be earnable as in-game rewards and made available for all players regardless of Gold Road ownership.
