Elite Dangerous adds the mega-heavy Panther Clipper Mk2 to the ‘early access’ cash shop in latest patch

When it comes to space trucking, size matters, and if you’re looking for an absolute unit to haul absolute units’ worth of cargo, it does not come bigger than the Panther Clipper Mk2, which is now available for “early access” in the cash shop of Elite: Dangerous.

As we’ve reported previously, the Clipper Mk2 is one of the biggest ships in the game in terms of pure size as well as features, with the capability of hauling huge amounts of cargo thanks in part to a pair of specialty cargo racks that it can fit, along with the ability to field 10 weapons to defend itself, an impressive array of internal parts, and according to at least one YouTuber’s early impressions, a surprising amount of speed.

Players can either wait about three months for the ship to be available for in-game credits, or they can buy the big boi now, though bear in mind doing so will come at a bit of a higher cash shop currency cost when compared to small and medium-sized ships. The Clipper Mk2 comes in the usual standard and stellar variants, and buying either version will secure a cheeky Panther Clipper Owners Club decal.

The patch that added the Clipper has also introduced a long line of bug fixes to squash problems with game crashes, misleading UI text, placement issues with colonization stations, and a line of localization and translation errors.
