See Dark Age of Camelot’s new group finder in action

Wondering how that new casual group finder for Dark Age of Camelot is working out? Well, why not see for yourself?

One of the RvR game’s enterprising guilds put together a demonstration video showing a group getting put together through the new tech. It was good enough to get the official thumbs-up from the devs, and who are we to argue? Give it a watch after the break.

I had(past tense) returned  to DAOC again(I’ve been playing the game on/off since its inception). IMO the graphics are not bad at all. Unfortunately the game has been badly neglected and IMO mismanaged, until BROADSWORD took it over. They are in the process of completely revitalizing the game. I just wish it was going at a much faster pace. So, I’ve returned to the real world to get things moving forward there.

IMO…..DAOC is still…..13 years later the undisputed champion of faction vs faction conflict. Yes,pretenders abound, but none deliver what this game still does.

The one flame that is  flickering in the darkness………CAMELOT UNCHAINED.

It is so cool to see DAoC so active, after all these years. We played the crap out of this game when it came out.

EatCandy Blackomen Rhime Yup, it’s about on-par with some of the better 3D browser games now graphically. But hey, I still remember get my first gaming pc when I was about ten or eleven, and getting to play morrowind for the first time. It’s the only time in gaming I have ever spent a straight hour doing nothing but looking at the water graphics.

DAoC is a good game at core, but it’s graphics are sufficiently old now that they make my eyes bleed.

Also, DAoC was released before certain keybinds in MMORPGs became the unofficial default in most games, so I was forever trying to remember, “What do I press to do X again?”

I enjoyed my time with DAoC, but I don’t see myself returning, alas.

My opinions, anyway,

What’s with all the stuttering going on? Is that normal for players, or does the person doing the video just have a bad connection?

Rhime Hard to look back on old games and know that once upon a time, those games were the bleeding edge of graphical fidelity. It’s amazing really.

Wow! I hadn’t seen DAoC graphically since my wife and I quit so many years ago. Back in the day, it was a benchmark for graphics and we even had to dial them back especially when we were in a group train out to the RvR lands..:) Glad to see it’s still going strong today as it is still the mark for PvP and multiplayer MMO action.
Can’t wait for Camelot Unchained!

Seems like a pretty solid system all things considered.

I like this system.  So much better than the blind random group generation tools in most other MMOs.
