EverQuest Next offers a new piece of fiction for fans

Yes, this assuages my nervousness, you bet.

While news has been a bit quiet on the development front for EverQuest Next, the game is still producing lore for its fans if nothing else. A new novella has recently gone live on the official site, giving players a glimpse into what took place immediately following the battle in Quin’Sari and setting the stage for the stories the game itself will tell when it launches.

Dreaming in Shadow is the thirteenth novella for the game and was written by Maxwell Alexander Drake. If you’ve been following all of the previous story revelations, it seems kind of self-evident that you won’t want to miss this one.

dirtyklingon melissamcdon Late to the party!
Yeah..  I really wonder if we’ll every see a pure Everquest NEXT game.
I know they’re using Landmark to Proof of Concept multiple things, and a good amount of what we see in Landmark will be Everquest Next in some form or another.
Yet, that doesn’t magically mean Everquest Next exists, or WILL exist.

First, EQN actually has to BE a game. Second, it has to actually be good before it can trump DCUO which I bet is their cash cow at this point.

Here’s a bit of Everquest Next fiction: “Everquest Next is coming out one day.”

Most MMO players like to see the lore play out in an actual game! I guess there is a reason the game title switched to EverQuest Never

Werewolf Finds Dragon  I had to like this comment because you’re the first person here who actually commented on the lore aspect itself, and not what SOE is doing right/wrong, which I myself was guilty of.
Thank you sir.
