bryanjturner BalsBigBrother see my original question please point me towards the court case confirming your allegations.  Until there is such a thing then no matter how obvious it may look that is all they are.
If you have informed the ip holders then all you can do is wait. It is a matter for the ip holders and the courts to decide. As much as you seem to wish otherwise what you or I think of this situation matters not the slightest and has no bearing on the outcome.  Simple as that ;-)

BalsBigBrother bryanjturner Because they are advertising the game on their web site, advertising isn’t a charity, Massively is being paid with money being made off of the theft from the genre they cover.

Here you go, first image clearly shows Magerealm ripping off GW2, the second image was taken in game by a WoW Redditor to point out the icons for abilities that were stolen from Blizzard. I’ve brought this game up multiple times in comments and even through the MOP tip line but I guess the wrap around ad must provide enough revenue that they can turn a blind eye.

Pillars of Eternity. There are plenty of success stories if you look.

Still expect Kickstarter to proof it’s not just a farce, show some solid mmorpg, anything.

bryanjturner  /sigh oh boy.  All the tag means is that I donated to the kickstarter for this website, nothing more or less than than that.  I have no ties professional or otherwise to the website, the mmo, gaming or advertising industry.
I asked my question out of personal curiosity.  To be fair to you while you didn’t directly answer it, I assume because you can’t, you did at least fill in some details that you don’t have in your op.  So I appreciate that at least.
You seem to be greatly troubled by this so I can assume that you have contacted the relevant ip holders and given them your evidence too.  That way they can take the correct legal approach if they feel they need to.
Thank you for your time :-)

bryanjturner Could you please point me towards the court case that has upheld the alleged ip theft that you are presenting.   Otherwise you are simply throwing insults at people on the site that do little to help your complaint and  really just make you look silly at least in my opinion.

Fine, won’t do it in the article?  I’ll do it myself!

Derek Smart! Derek Smart! Derek Smart! Derek Smart! Derek Smart! Derek Smart! Derek [Crazy Ass] Smart!
 Okay, done.

Keeping a light eye on TUG (have it, but optimized it is not), The Repopulation (interesting sandboxy), Camelot Unchained (maybe good PvP sieges? Maybe, please?) and Crowfall (sandboxy and love the art style).   The rest of the list is kind of a wash in my ballpark.

I have noticed a lot of these games use the Unity Engine.  Is there a reason for this?  Are there no other MMO engines out there right now that is up for licensing or is it just the best available?
