Have you been wondering what is going on in Landmark development lately? Devs took to the forums yesterday to announce some new building-related features currently being worked on and expected by the end of the year. The first is a separate build mode with its own unique interface that separates the adventure and building aspects of Landmark; this allows for shared keybindings, so convenient keys are freed up to use in either. Players will be prompted to enter build mode as soon as they enter a claim they have permission to build on.
Next up is the mega palette, which is a bigger, more customizable version of the current prop and material palettes that players are used to. The mega palette windows can be scaled, resized, and pinned.
Want to stop time so you aren’t building in the dark? Soon (TM) you will be able to! Claim time controls will allow players to control the time of day on their claims as well as the rate at which time passes. There are three settings: island time (matches the island), custom (adjusts the speed), and specific hour (basically a pause button). Players will even be able to split what vistors see verse what the owner sees.
Lastly, new building camera modes are incoming. Free cam is a first-person camera that isn’t bound to your avatar. Orbit cam, like free cam, is not bound to your character; its difference is that you place a temporary orbit out in the world.
