The Daily Grind: Have you tried Lineage II’s new server?

30

Lineage II launched on Steam recently. NCsoft also added a new server to its 11-year old fantasy stalwart. I played a bit in Aden many moons ago, and I would have returned to try the new server already but for a seismic month of releases that are already crowding my personal gaming plate (seriously devs, you had to release Battlefront, Fallout 4, Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate, and a massive update for Space Engineers all within two weeks of one another?).

What about you, MOP readers? Are you at all interested in seeing what’s made Lineage II one of the genre’s more successful titles? Have you tried the new server, or do you plan to?

Every morning, the Massively Overpowered writers team up with mascot Mo to ask MMORPG players pointed questions about the massively multiplayer online roleplaying genre. Grab a mug of your preferred beverage and take a stab at answering the question posed in today’s Daily Grind!

sukumei I used to play this game for a few years when it released. I am downloading it now to check out the new server. I liked exploring the terrain as much as the game play.

Was expecting at least an L2 player in here. Was expecting a bit too much it seems. Carry on.

Miskav jefreahard Siphaed How do sales figures affect your personal enjoyment of a single player game?

Armsbend schmidtcapela Counter Strike, Team Fortress 2, Bloodlines Champions, Overwatch, UT3, UT4, Battlefront, Battlefield 3, Battlefield 4, Battlefield Hardline (co op modes are a joke in these). I’m sure there’s more but ‘I can not think of video games without PvE’

Not interested in L2. Tried it once many years ago. Hated everything about it.

Blue name tags all seem to be social and chatting. The black name tags all seemed to be chilled and relaxing. Kinda reminds of those big warehouse parties I sued to go to in the 90’s. o.O
…oh wait, what was this DG about. Or right…highly unlikely.
Edit: Removed the pointless flounce.

Can a new server stop a crappy game from being crappy?

Didn’t think so.

Put in 132 hours so far on Fallout 4 and loved every moment of it.  Only encontered a cuple of very minor bugs that only needed a relog to fix.

Meh. On to more important news. Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate has a very positive rating currently on Steam. Now that’s news lol

BalsBigBrother Siphaed I’ve put in about 20 and only problem I had was a bug where Dogmeat disappeared after tracking an NPC to a location.  I had been kind of watching so had a save ready and only lost 30 minutes trying to get it working without restoring to save.
Otherwise, my only objection with Fallout 4 is that it’s stripped out a lot of the moral choices and non-combat options that the series has been known for.  Sacrifices of a voiced protagonist I hear
