Star Citizen is adding 50,000 more testers to its persistent universe

If you weren’t one of the lucky few who got into Star Citizen’s first persistent universe test group last week, but you were one of the early backers of the game way back in 2012, chances are that you’re now in the test!

Cloud Imperium has released a new PTU patch and it is adding 50,000 additional alpha 2.0 testers by citizen number. The rest of this week’s development update post lays out what the team has been working to add and fix. Server instability is still at the top of the list, but CIG says that it is making progress. See the link below for all of the details.

I am aware of all of this. I dust don’t think damage modeling down to the centimeter is needed for this. I don’t need to see that precision. And I was wondering how much resources could be saved if there were a few less hit boxes. There’s only so many components in the wing. I don’t need exact bullet recognition for it to report a stabilizer is out.
To be clear. I think it’s awesome that it is so detailed. Mine is more a thought exercise and I wonder if it is a draw on resources and time being too detailed.

GoJammit Thornz Sure, that’s what I mean with that second sentence.

Saerain GoJammit Thornz The location of the damage determines which systems are damaged.  So it actually matters here.

Granted the visual representation may only be a decal, but the location of the hits matters.

Awesome! I have yet to get any actual flying done from the constant bug reporting I’ve been doing. I’m to the point now where I have reported the bugs that I see all the way up to getting in my ship. I even managed to do quantum once today.
The big problem I’m having is controls now. None of the existing profiles they have there work for my X45, a crime that I would think they’d ha e corrected by now. And the button layout, or at least the numbering, is different enough that it is completely useless. I thought I would be able to resign in game but that has yet to be implemented I guess. I downloaded the SC action mapper, but it’s making my eyes cross and I’m really sleepy for some reason so I’m hitting the sack in hopes of having more energy for it tomorrow.

Crusader is just a “small part” of the Stanton system. It’s also called Stanton II. There are three other large planets in Stanton, among them ArcCorp (Stanton III).
