Slower than a ray of light.

Yes, you read the header; Dual Universe has officially funded with over 8100 backers pledging over $630,000 toward a $556,421 goal. If someone registered DidDualUniverseReachItsFundingGoal.com, that site should probably get its final update right about now. The game’s Kickstarter has come to an end, and it’s all over but… well, the lengthy development process and hoping that the Kickstarter funding is enough to carry the development through into the future.

The development team posted a preview of multiplayer cargo ship building in anticipation of the final funding push which you can check out just after the break. You can also continue to increase your pledge via the developer’s ongoing pledge system, so as long as you got in on the action before the final moments, you’ll be able to scale up somewhat. If this is the first you’re hearing about it, though… well, the good news is that it funded!

Update: Novaquark’s press release just landed; it tells players that future crowdfunding will be carried out on the official site and thanks everyone for making the game “the third most funded video game on Kickstarter in 2016.”
