The Daily Grind: Are you worried for EVE Online’s safety if CCP is bought out?

Following the Bloomberg-floated rumor last Friday that CCP Games might be up for sale, we’ve had nothing but silence from CCP on the topic, so bloggers have been filling the vacuum. While some folks believe CCP is hoping to cash out thanks to VR, others are looking to what might become of EVE Online in the interim. The Ancient Gaming Noob joked that depending on which gaming studio picks up the sci-fi sandbox, we might be in for quite a ride: Square-Enix would soft-focus the crap out of the game, XL Games would find a way to add cleavage, and Tencent? E-sports. Lots of e-sports.

Setting aside the jokes (not that some of them are unrealistic…), I wonder what you think about the potential for a sell-off of the studio or some of its assets. Are you worried that CCP Games might be up for sale? Would it ultimately be a bad thing to EVE Online if it were sold off — or if CCP sold off everything but EVE? Are you worried about the future of the game?
