The first new patch for The Repopulation should be in about five weeks

Depopulated.

When The Repopulation returned under new management, it was an understood fact that it would be a while before the game got its first patch. And it’s true, it will be a while. Specifically, it’ll be about five more weeks according to the latest update from the development team. That’s how long it’s going to take to sort out all of the back-end issues players aren’t seeing and gently massage the code into cooperating and improving.

If you were thinking it would take longer than five weeks, well, this is pretty much good news. And there is definitely a lot of stuff being adjusted behind the scenes, including combat, the UI, new player tutorials, pathing, and texture files. How good the first few patches under the game’s new ownership will be remains to be seen, but it does seem pretty clear that the game’s improvement is being taken seriously.

Already spent the money back when it started, so as long as I dont have to spend anymore, Ill just wait and see what they do with the game. No interest in playing till I see some improvement.

It’s been all good so far, I am impressed by the work Idea Fabrik seem to be putting in, I am really happy that the game appears to be moving forward with some speed now.

I have it installed and will be going back when the patch drops. :)

I dont know how long I was expecting it to take for the first patch but I would have expected it before they started selling the game on steam again.

Agreed. Anyone who buys the game now is in for a sore disappointment. Performance is mind-boggling levels of bad. There’s very little direction in the game, also. I get that it’s a sandbox, but there is literally zero indicator of what you should be aiming for in the game, to the end that you wonder if there is any point in playing. Definitely needs a second or third pass prior to soliciting sales.

The big question is if this patch will fix the chunk issues? If “yes” then yay!

At this point they would have to perform miracles to regain the credibility they lost.

They should take as long as they want for every patch. A drawn out crash and burn is so much more fun to watch than a one time boom and implosion.

Right now the rear panel is on fire and oil smoke is filling the cabin.

reminder these back end issues were on IF to solve in teh first place and multiple partners were waiting on them to fixe them. if they do fix them it is not reason for praise but for getting their shit in gear after causing so much grief to their mulitple development partners they shit on heavily in the end.

And it bears remembering that they were rewarded for said shitting on their development partners by acquiring this game. Cute how that worked out for them. I’m not usually one to boycott a game on ethical grounds, but for this level of shameless fuckery I’ll make an exception.
