Well, all right, then.

As Sea of Thieves sails across the choppy waters of its technical alpha tests, the team makes a point to occasionally descending the rigging to give a report in podcast form.

In the game’s latest Tales from the Tavern Podcast, discussion of the technical alpha takes the center stage, with the team saying that 23,000 players were invited for the most recent test, bringing the crowd up to 39,000 in total. This number is only for console, as PC players are still waiting to be included in the testing program (progress is being made on this front, don’t you worry).

The team reports that there’s a lot of improvements in the technical alpha, such as underwater swimming, finite ship resources, better sword gameplay, and retuning skeleton difficulty. One feature that’s only in the discussion phase is a spyglass, which presents the team with many technical challenges.
