7 Days to Die turns the electricity on and hits Steam’s 100 best-selling games of all time

If you don’t already have a copy of 7 Days to Die in your Steam library, you may be part of a shrinking crowd of unfortunate souls. As part of a Greenlight closure notice, Valve noted that 7 Days to Die was in the top 100 best-selling games released on Steam.

It’s a good time to be playing the zombie survival sandbox, as one of its biggest patches to date just dropped. Alpha 16 added “a complete functional electricity system” for players to use when decking out their anti-zombie fortress. Electrified fences and shotgun turrets, anyone?

The patch doesn’t stop there, either. There’s a distance rendering system, more zombie spawns, game stage improvements, new enemies (watch out for the Disturbed Tourist!), a fur system for animals, painting, progression changes, controller support, more recipes, a Stealth 2.0 system, and a ton of new locations including the city of Departure.

Source: Patch notes. Thanks Sorenthaz!

I just started playing State of Decay YOSE a few days ago and if the game is quite good actually I’m missing the multiplayer part big time, so I may give 7 Days to Die a try…

Thanks for the article.

Zombies, overdone zombies. If it isn’t a new episode in Ash vs. or something similar, I’m more than done with zombies for a while.

If they show up in tiny amounts, no big deal. If they are all over a game, no thanks. Sorry 7DtD… but you missed this train on my end by about a decade.

I love 7DtD… probably my best Early Access purchase after Minecraft. I love installing it whenever they drop a new build and playing over from the start, each time is like a new game. It is still not perfect as I find melee combat to still be rather awkward but I love spending hours and hours just scavenging thru buildings and working on my base. Anyone just trying it out should also look into the Valmod Overhaul. It really adds a lot to the game and it is really great to be able to spawn with a bit of gear already and the way they do skills and recipes is just a lot more fun.

Also I played this game for like 2 years solo before I even tried a server and that is just a ton of fun too. Seeing all the wild bases up close and the crazy times trying to clear large buildings full of zombies… good times.

“Fur system”…..I already feel bad enough for the animals in the game. The horrors of a deer being chased into a corner by zombies only to be attacked and ate. Disturbing to say the least.

One of my favorite survival sandboxes… it just continues to get better. I’ve been playing for several years now with a small group of friends, and have clocked in more hours on this than any other Steam game. I’m glad to see it getting coverage here!

Same here. Outside of an MMO, I’ve clocked more hours into this one than any other game I own period. I love it.

It is annoying that they do not include a list of those games.
