Good news for fans of hunting monsters today, as Monster Hunter: World has announced its release date as January 26th, 2018! The slightly less-good news is that’s just for the versions on Xbox One and PlayStation 4; players on PC will have to wait for an as-yet unspecified date. But it’s still happening, and a firm release date just makes it seem that much more likely in the near future.
You can also check out a new rather narrative trailer just below, showing off the landscapes and (most importantly) the monsters players will encounter in the game. Those of you who remember that a rather similar title pushed its own launch to 2018 might be looking forward to the battle for hearts and minds, but if you’re a stalwart Monster Hunter fan, you can be happy just to know that there are only a few short months before the game is open to the world. You can also check out our hands-on from E3 this year.

I can’t express how happy I am that this is coming out in January. I’ll definitely be picking up the CE of this game. I’ll be playing on PC. Happy hunting.
… and now the realization that pc isn’t dropping at the same time </3
Not gonna lie. For whatever reason, this makes me kind of happy! I hope they give some announcements for the PC version soon!
This is my most-anticipated game right now. Monster Hunter is literally my favorite game series. I imagined we would have to wait a little longer into 2018, so this is a nice surprise. My hunting partner (and PCMR elitist) best friend is gonna throw a fit that I’m getting the PS4 version, but I don’t want to wait any longer than I have to for MHW.
YAAAAAAAASSSSS!!!!!
Cool. If the pc version isn’t a networking disaster then I’m just going to throw caution to the wind and say I’m in. I’ve always wanted to try one and here is my chance.
the original grindathon for the sake of grinding game married to teh mmo genre at last LOL.
That’s fine with me, I’ve been looking for a wot replacement and this or Dauntless looks like it will do nicely.
yeah the only surprising thing is that it took so long to happen.
I don’t mind grind if I think it’s fun. Every MMO is just grind with few exceptions. Hell when I played FFVII I kept going to just for bigger and bigger Buster Swords.
