Life is Feudal’s soft launch is off to a shaky start

You might want to consider holding off on jumping in with both feet to Life is Feudal for a little while, at least. The MMO version of the game soft launched last week with its open beta, but it has been nothing but trouble since then.

For starters, an exploitable bug prompted a full game wipe and a short delay of the open beta with some limited compensation: “We had to bring running servers down and wipe them. The reason for that is that a random bug that occurred during the transfer of some characters from newbie island on the Abella has caused them to have a GM powers during the game session. Some players have used it to their advantage and damage was beyond the repair once we’ve detected it.”

If the wipe and delay wasn’t enough, numerous issues have cropped up since the launch, including crashes, disconnects, login problems, slow launcher speeds, and missing rewards. The team said that it is working on all of these issues.

Tried to find information about the game, had a hard time. Can’t even find where the servers will be located to figure out my ping.
I don’t know, i’m very suspicious about this game, because it is so hard to find relevant information, and everything seems to blend together with the first game (LiF:YO) making it hard to find relevant stuff about the MMO game.
Well, i will pass, when I need to make too much effort to find out basic information about the game, it is because something is very wrong, and usually it ends badly.

Dallas US and Germany EU. There is a lot of overlap in searches, sadly.

For everyone saying typical mmo launch I’ll remind you that GW2’s launch went off fine.

I was interested until I saw it was full loot hardcore pvp . I am guessing this means not the most friendly community , a gankbox and no factions .

To each his own but it’s not for me . I like world pvp well enough but only without full loot and with factions .

MMO has problematical launch – right there with the “Pope is Catholic” (except when he’s Coptic. ;).

I wish them and especially the players of the game all the best.

Yep, typical MMO launch. Messy.

Anyway, my offer stands if people want a bigger group to join up with, less raging jerk and more ‘will protect ourselves and our allies.’ We’re one of the biggest alliances at this point, and more than happy to bring in fellow MoP people.

If desired, people can always contact me via the official Life is Feudal discord (I am Jairone on there,) or say something here and I’ll see about getting back to people. (We use discord for the group, so that’s ultra convenient!)

Wishing those playing or interested fun times and safe travels (as well as the rest of you all!)

I’m really digging the game! Bought a nice starter pack. Yes, it’s had some bugs, but they’ve been on top of fixing them. Gonna look for some people to join. It’s definitely filling the sandbox hole I had.

Glad you are enjoying!

I guess games are different. Normally user roles / permissions / security is pretty cut and dried in the IT world.

There’s nothing cut and dry about security in the IT world.

I am really enjoying this game despite the rough start. It’s a grind, for sure, but I’m having a good time. Not a super solo friendly game but you can still have a good time as a hermit.

Aye, helps to have people you can trade with if doing so too!

A typical MMO launch!
