Ascent: Infinite Realm teases class elements and all four races

Finding out more about Ascent: Infinite Realm can be very feast or famine, but perhaps your appetite will be whetted at the prospect of some class designs. Or perhaps you’ve forgotten about this particular steampunk game that we know is headed westward at some point in the future, in which case you’ll just be excited to learn things. The five classes of the game – Warlord, Assassin, Mystic, Elementalist, and Gunslinger – are all on display, each of them displaying elements of offering more than a single playstyle for players to capitalize upon.

The Warlord, for example, is clearly meant to shield other players from harm, but the class is also targeted at providing overwhelming force to knock out enemies. Mystics are healers, but they also branch beyond just healing. Assassins are as much about swashbuckling as leaping out of stealth to assassinate people. You can check out the images just below or take a gander at the full rundown on the official site if you’re curious about the design of these classes, even if it won’t exactly blow your mind to know that Gunslingers are all about shooting people.

Update
MOP reader Feo points out that the Thai version of the game has a race trailer (on a Hungarian fansite) showing all all four races: Human, Elf, Orc, Ein.

I’m still very much looking forward to A:IR and I’m giddy that it’s not yet another open-world PvP sandbox.

Poorly optimized and P2W. No. I’m not from the future.

I’m not hyped about this game, but I do want to try it out. I won’t be paying any starter packs though, I’ll be waiting for the open beta and go from there. Looks cool, but it won’t be my main MMO.

Ascent Infinite Realm is being made by the same developer that made TERA and PUBG

I’m curious about the game, but I’m super not into the female costume design (seriously, you see more skin on one of the two female costumes than all 3 of the male costume designs combined <.<). Also where the mystic is holding her weapon is … unfortunate.

Other than that, it looks like fun, but I'm always suspicious of Eastern imports because it seems like playing the game is mostly automated.

Agreed, the fact is they make games for the audiebce of chodes who would get horny to play a female character. That’s why all the female characters look like sluts in distress that require the big fat otaku weeb to save them with his knowledge of jutsu.

Other than that, Asian games are no longer automated. Sure, auto tracking was popular around 2009-2010, but not anymore. Now the Asian games are just shallow concepts of Western games that are so simplistic and repetitive that it is insulting. Imagine this game to hold your hand until level 50 or something and limit you with paywalls and severe grinding at high levels.

I will test the game, but I don’t expect much. The only thing that concerns me is that the game is by the developer of TERA abd TERA had 2 major turnoffs for me:

1. There was no body customization or choice between different body types, for example if I wanted to play male human caster in TERA, he had to be some buffed bodybuilder.

2. They added a race of lolis and that race got the most OP classes and they were race-exclusive, as well as all the perverts played this race and that was like 70% of the playerbase.

So I’m concerned that they may not invlude body customization and add loli race in the future for all the perverts.
