Earlier this month, we told you about Stay Out, a free-to-play MMO shooter that looks to be pretty much S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Online in all but name. As of this past weekend, the game has officially kicked off its Steam Early Access release, opening up the world to wider testing.
So just what is being tested? According to the blurbs on the Stay Out Steam page, most of the development work is focused on a talent system, crafting, adding a Pripyat location, and optimization. That said, most of the primary game beats, with 11 locations, over 50 variations of weapons with realistic characteristics, and a “huge” number of quests, events and PvP activities, are available right now, so there should be plenty for players to do.
Early access for Stay Out is expected to run until the winter of 2020, and the game will remain free-to-play when it does fully release.
