Ashes of Creation announces an early preview livestream of alpha one

Intrepid Studios is ready to show the world what it’s got. On Friday, March 27th, at 2:00 p.m. EST, Ashes of Creation will be showing off an early preview of alpha one.

The announcement comes by way of video, which offers a look at several aspects of the developing MMORPG’s gameplay, including the growth of nodes and buildings being erected in town, and of course an adventuring party roaming the wilds to beat up on wildlife. Also there’s a dragon, because naturally.

The broadcast will air on Ashes’ Twitch channel at the appointed hour, but you can get a quick (and dramatically shot) look at what’s in store in the video below.

graphics look very good. Combat seems like ESO which I am not fan of… its hard to make a good action combat, very few succeed (Black Desert, Tera)… but of course I ll try it and hope its good

At least based off of Apocalypse (which won’t be the final version of combat but was sort of a testing bed for the basic stuff) the combat felt pretty good. Attacks felt weighty and closer to BDO than ESO. But it was also mostly just “spam left click after using ability and occasionally try to block maybe”.

Definitely not like ESO. ESO was soft targeting. AoC is going to be more aim based and weighty like TERA was. Animation locks etc.

You are wrong. The mmo combat of this game will be more like GW2, a mix of free aim and tab target combat. Which is great to hear. Gw2 has the best mmo combat along with wow and swtor.

and swtor.

That’s like your opinion man.

lol, you are wrong. They have already stated what their combat was going to be. The BR was literally a direct test of what their combat was going to be, with options for people to use more tab target friendly types of skills if they wish.

That’s too bad. I’m a backer and I played the BR and the combat in it just wasn’t fun. If it launches and it still sucks, I’ll just give my account away to someone.
