Destiny 2 adds new PvP maps and makes most of its expansions temporarily free-to-play

Have you memorized pretty much every single PvP battlefield that Destiny 2 has to offer? Then make some room in your brain because there are now three fresh maps to memorize this week, offering PvP-loving fans of the looter shooter three new locations to brawl in.

These new maps — Eventide Labs, Dissonance, and Cirrus Plaza — are available in the Crucible mode and built for 3v3 skirmishes. They’re not part of any wider rotation for the time being and are instead put into their own separate playlist known as New Territory, so those who want some fresh sights to see while having their heads blown off will have to select that option specifically. The patch has otherwise tweaked special ammo drop rules and fixed bugs for the Pantheon and Onslaught modes.

In other D2 news, Bungie has made nearly all of its expansions fully free for a limited time: Shadowkeep, The Witch Queen, and Beyond Light are available to everyone, while PlayStation Plus members will also get access to Lightfall. This free promotion is running between now and Monday, June 3rd.

On top of the free expansion access, the seasonal content offered through Year 6 will also be making a comeback until June 3rd. That means activities and rewards from Season of Defiance, Season of the Deep, Season of the Witch, and Season of the Wish are all back and playable for a limited time.
