One of the big PC gaming success stories from 2018 was the launch of Frostpunk, a city-builder with a post-apocalyptic survival theme. It’s sold 1.4 million copies in its first year and churned out an expansion, but the snowplow isn’t content to stop there.

An official board game adaptation of the four-player co-op game is in the works, and if its Kickstarter campaign is any indication, it’s one of the hottest properties in town. Very shortly after debuting on the crowdfunding platform, Frostpunk: The Board Game shot past its $235,405 target goal. As of the writing of this article, nearly a million dollars have been pledged to the project with 20 days left on the clock.

It’s a gorgeous-looking game with lots of attractive miniatures and several elements such as daily events and weather that players have to handle. One of the stretch goals for the board game looks to create an app that will coordinate long-distance joint play sessions.
