League of Legends officially reveals Seraphine the Starry-Eyed Songstress

At this point, the fact that there’s now a pop star champion in the League of Legends roster should come as little surprise to fans, what with the whole K/DA thing and the fact that the character has already been on Twitter a fair bit. Be that as it may, we can now officially confirm that Seraphine the Starry-Eyed Songstress is officially arriving to the MOBA.

Seraphine’s passive ability lets her cast an echo of a basic ability every third cast as well as grants her notes whenever she uses basic abilities near allies, which give her basic attacks more attack range and additional magic damage while consuming each note. The rest of her kit includes abilities that can either shield allies or stun and charm foes while also dealing magic damage.

Not only will players get to play the starlet in-game, but they will also get to purchase an Ultimate skin for her that unlocks a series of missions that tell the story of her rise from bedroom dreamer to K/DA collaborator. Purchase of the skin also comes with two icons, an emote, and a border that can be earned as a part of the narrative quest line.

Seraphine will arrive to LoL with patch 10.22. Those who are eager to learn more about her can check out her abilities rundown, her bio, and some developer insights regarding her creation.

Honestly, since KDA the main reason I look forward to these is for another awesome video.

(FYI the video of the actual mocap IRL human dancers behind it is almost better)

The choreo video is great but worth noting this was completely hand-animated by Fortiche.

This is one of the reasons why SMITE has more ‘credibility’ (as little as it makes sense in MOBAs) in my eyes…

Riot may not have the most creative game designers on the planet but the fact that they remember t.A.T.u made me like them a little better.

I guess I’m not in the demographic (millennial) targeted for this stuff because their whole kpop obsession with the K/DA stuff just makes me cringe – like it reminds me of Youtube’s 2018 rewind with the weirdly forced kpop obsession bit. I guess the LoL fanbase eats it up like crazy though for some reason.

Her kit sounds like she’s basically another version of Sona but even more annoying. Coupled with a design that looks like she’s in the same vein as Zoe is a good way to add an extra PTSD layer.

I remember that the K/DA stuff was accelerated because of the exposed debacle. I’m on the field that they’re cashing it heavily to avoid getting deeper on drama.

And yes, people eat it. Most of my friends, who are the most radicalized people i know, get all melted for the new skins and videoclips ( to my complete chagrin ).

Yeah, I couldn’t care less either, but my wife is a K-pop fan and loves K/DA, so Riot easily snatched some of our household’s money with this one.

I hope Seraphine considers changing workplace, considering everything we hear about Riot.

I’d like to say she was named after one of Massively-that-was writers. Though I suppose that would be stretching it… o.O

Yeah the champion would have to be named Seraphina for that to work
