Blizzard celebrates Lunar New Year in World of Warcraft, Overwatch, and Hearthstone

Blizzard is no slouch when it comes to Lunar New Year celebrations: Its largest online titles have all gotten updates for the season.

In World of Warcraft, the Lunar Festival has begun as of today, plus of course there’s a cute flying bull mount, Lucky Yun, up for grabs if you jump into a six-month subscription. Wowhead has a great guide to this year’s festival; it doesn’t look as if there’s much new, apart from a faction tweak for Shadowlands.

Hearthstone’s festivities don’t technically begin until next week; starting February 9th, expect new legendary quests themed for the season, along with Romance of the Three Kingdoms skins and the Lunar Blessing tavern brawl.

Finally, in Overwatch, players are already skirmishing for cosmetics from the Year of the Ox. Pay note to the new Bounty Hunter mode, too: “In this new addition to the Arcade rotation, rack up points as you claim bounties. The player who gets the first kill of the match becomes a Target, and everyone else a Bounty Hunter. Earn extra points by killing the Target, but beware—if you land the killing blow on a Target, you become the next one.”
