The Daily Grind: What mount type do you wish more MMOs would offer?

Here are some of my mounts in Final Fantasy XIV: a sheep. A flying pig. A giant moss-covered sneezing monster. A drifting stalk of a plant. An entire bed. All of these mounts are wonderful because there’s nothing like the sheer impact of storming into battle whilst lying back and relaxing on a bed that somehow hovers under its own power. How does that work? I don’t know; I just know that one of my mounts is an entire actual bed.

Of course, I’m pretty sure every game that offers mounts has a few such items. Sure, we’ve long accepted that basically anything rideable is going to be desired as a player mount, and some of those things wind up being predictable like some sort of pony, some kind of bird, and something vaguely draconic. But what about weirder mounts? What sort of mount should more MMOs offer, either because it’s cool or just because it’s so silly?

Every morning, the Massively Overpowered writers team up with mascot Mo to ask MMORPG players pointed questions about the massively multiplayer online roleplaying genre. Grab a mug of your preferred beverage and take a stab at answering the question posed in today’s Daily Grind!
