We always have a chuckle in the MOP office when World of Warships puts out its latest wacky cross-promotion with real world celebrities or IPs that shouldn’t have any business hanging out with World War II-era warships. But hey, anything to draw attention and pump up hype, yeah?
Actually, that sort of thing can bother me a whole lot. Recently in Shop Titans, the game had a cross-promotion with the Avatar franchise, which I care not one whit for. All of the sudden, Avatar stuff was everywhere, and I just wanted it gone because it broke the consistency of the game world and was such a blatant promotion.
Have there been any cross-promotions like this that annoyed you or felt out of place in your MMO?
