One of the follow-up discussions after the World of Warcraft: Dragonflight reveal the other day didn’t concern the content of the talk so much as the awkward presentation. It was a very odd juxtaposition, where the body language of people sitting around a table suggested a natural conversation, yet their carefully scripted speech felt artificial and constrained.

It made me think a lot about the best way for MMOs to handle grand reveals and upcoming roadmaps. Should an article suffice with perhaps a more relaxed Q&A livestream afterward? Do you like stage presentations or these kind of coffeeshop setups? Would you prefer a straight-up informational video with cinematics followed up by a list of features shared over some gameplay footage?

What do you think? What’s the best way for MMO studios to handle reveals of this nature?
