What do you think would be included in a Starter Pack for Destiny 2? Do you envision some currency? Perhaps access to an expansion or two? Or do you think it would offer a couple of cosmetics, some middling exotic weapons, and a measly bunch of upgrade materials? If your answer was that last one, then either you are a Bungie executive or you’ve watched the studio drive this clown car before.
This bundle, which was priced at $15, packed together two exotic weapons from 2019, three cosmetic items, 125K in Glimmer (the basic game currency that’s generally easy to earn), and a stingy bunch of enhancement materials in quantities too low for making meaningful upgrades to gear – and aren’t really important to players who are starting out to begin with.
The bundle’s reveal brought heaps of derision upon Bungie from players, which ultimately saw the studio pull the pack from digital store shelves because it admits that it “is not something bringing joy.” The same Twitter account further talks about upcoming Season of the Wish adjustments like a reeling back of the Blind Well weekly requirement, shard economy tweaks, and some PvP adjustments.
We’ve heard your concerns and agreed that there are other parts of Destiny 2 that new players should want to dive into first before chasing these Exotic weapons, cosmetics, and upgrade materials.
