Superhero card battler DC Dual Force surrenders to a shutdown

Back in October, we reported on the launch of DC Dual Force, a card battler that came out in response to the popularity of Marvel Snap. Apparently the game hasn’t done so hot in the past few months and will be closing its doors in a couple months.

“We have made the difficult decision to close DC Dual Force,” the studio posted. “Players will no longer be able to make any in-app purchases as of today and the game server will officially be shut off on February 29, 2024. Until that date, players can continue to play, create an account, and use all their in-game items and cards.”

Existing players can log in every day from now through the shutdown to get perks of the Gold subscription level and thousands of units of currency. The studio said that all purchases made on or after October 17th will be refunded through whatever platform players used. No reason was given for the shutdown, although we can make a reasonable assumption that it vastly underperformed even with the DC branding.
