New World brings back Legacy of Crassus tomorrow, plus Amazon talks best and worst NPCs

As teased in the game’s wafer-thin roadmap at the end of 2023, New World is bringing back its Legacy of Crassus event starting tomorrow and running through January 23rd.

“The shadow of Roman tyranny creeps ever closer to consuming Aeternum on January 10 through 23,” Amazon says. “Banish General Crassus’s monstrous captains for new event-specific, daily rewards. Lucanus and Decimus, brothers bound by blood and battle, now transformed to stone by the Curse of Medusa and warped into mythic monsters by the Corruption, will stop at nothing to fulfill their final command. Once feared across many lands as General Crassus’ two most dreadful champions, they continue his legacy with relentless cyclopean brutality.”

Naturally, players who participate are in for a round of rewards ranging from weapons and armor to cyclopse statuettes for their house. Festive!

In other New World news, yesterday Amazon dropped a new Forged in Aeternum video; it’s a bit fluffy, focusing on the favorite NPCs of six members of the game’s narrative team (and a few hated additions too; the blurb promises “shocking reveals and some Galahad slander”). Either way, fun for the lorefiends in the playerbase.
