It’s both a look to the future and a blast from the past for Guild Wars 2 players, as ArenaNet has posted the initial patch notes for its next balance patch and has confirmed that Living World Season 1 will come back for a limited time.
We’ll start with the arguably larger piece of news: the balance update. According to the notes, the changes scheduled for January 30th are meant to address outliers that sprang up after the MMORPG’s November balance patch as well as to prepare for the proliferation of weapons coming in the next release. That doesn’t mean there aren’t things to scope out, of course, as the patch notes outline adjustments to several underperforming relics and tweaks to condi Elementalists, support Firebrands, condi Rangers, and more. Things obviously get granular so fans are encouraged to read up.
As for the return of Living World Season 1, that begins on Tuesday, January 16th, in a special event that promises additional rewards for those who join in. Participation begins with responding to a letter from Captain Ellen Kiel, while the event itself will run until January 23rd.
